Glowing yellow aspens bask in warm afternoon sunshine on the hillsides overlooking St. Mary Lake. From this vantage point, the upper St. Mary Valley can be experienced in Glacier National Park. Historians believe that Hugh Monroe and Father DeSmet named St. Mary Lake in 1834 when they ventured into this spectacular region.
