Chief Mountain

Early snowfall enhances the autumn display and dramatic rise of Chief Mountain. Located near the Canadian border, Chief Mountain stands as a geological landmark which early mapmakers named, "King Mountain." Native American legends tell of young braves scaling this mountain, while carrying a bison skull, in order to experience a "medicine vision."
