The Grand Canyon might be best known for its outrageous red sunsets. They are most intense when the sun reaches a very low angle, minutes before the sun drops over the horizon. This is when the long, warm waves of light radiate through dust particles in the atmosphere and drench canyon walls with a brilliant glow.
