NORTH RIM AUTUMN

Bright yellow aspen trees lining the meadows and dotting the canyon rim signal fall has arrived in the North Rim. The shortening of daylight hours means plants generate less chlorophyll. Other leaf pigments, already present in the leaves, become visible. This sets the stage for a display of brilliant colors.
