Mount Moran

Mostly frozen during winter, Oxbow Bend was created where the Snake River cut a new channel leaving this backwater. The prominent Mt. Moran sits as a snow-covered sentinel overlooking the picturesque setting. The mountain was named for artist Thomas Moran, who painted impressive watercolors of the Tetons in the late 1800's.
