LAKE MEAD

The result of Hoover Damn, Lake Mead has 822 miles of shoreline and holds 9 trillion gallons of water. The dam that created one of the world's largest lakes, Hoover Dam, took 5000 workers nearly four years to complete. As a result of these efforts, Lake Mead National Recreation Area attracts hundreds of boaters and provides outstanding sight-seeing opportunities.
