HUMBOLDT RIVER

The Humboldt River was once known as the "meanest stream" by wagon trains of emigrants traveling across Nevada towards California. It was bitter tasting and sometimes undrinkable in a parched desert country. The river meanders 300 miles through broad, alkaline valleys before reaching a marshy bog near the Stillwater Range.
