Conifer Forests

Oregon is noted for its moist maritime climate and magnificent conifer forests. In a region that receives abundant precipitation and dense coastal fog, the extensive forest ecosystem supports impressive stands of sitka spruce, western red cedar, western hemlock and Douglas fir. When winter softly blankets these evergreen forests, the silence is broken by only a trickle of water.
