Deshute RiverLeading a scouting party along the eastern slopes of the Cascades, Peter Skene Ogden followed the Deshute River in 1825-26. He was hired by the Hudson Bay Company to deter-mine if beavers were plentiful in this region. Ogden reported the pickings were slim, but did actually trap some beaver. |
