CASCADE CREST

Blanketed in white against a cobalt blue sky, the Cascade Range is dramatically displayed for the season. This sharp crest of mountain peaks rises to approximately 9,000 feet and is being carved mainly by frost shattering, expansion of ice within rock cracks. Over 300 glaciers still exist in this range. They lies buried under deep snowfall during winter months.
