Mount Hood

The highest peak in Oregon, Mount Hood towers above Lost Lake. It rises to 11,235 feet and is one of North America's most frequently climbed glaciated peaks. Glacial scouring and icefalls continue to carve away tons of this volcanic mountain. It is estimated that over past centuries, Mount Hood has lost at least 1000 feet due to severe glaciation.
