Clearwater River

Gracefully edged by fall foliage, the Clearwater River continues its journey eventually joining the Snake River near Lewiston. Mackenzie's Post was established around this area in 1812. It served as a fur trading stop for John Jacob Astor's Pacific Fur Company. Due to the lack of good beaver population, this post was abandoned by May 1813.
