Autumn Gold

Brilliant fall foliage signals the arrival of autumn in the Umatilla National Forest. This tree-covered plateau cut by stream canyons spans 300,000 acres. It is a popular recreation area for hunting and wilderness hiking. Remote, rustic campgrounds and little-used trails enhance the opportunity for encountering elk, deer, bighorn sheep and even mountain lion.
