CANYONLANDS

Peering into a maze of sheer canyon walls, the Colorado River can be seen as it horseshoes through Canyonland National Park. Characteristic to this region, island mesas are formed when eroded slabs of sandstone separate from the vertical cliffs and tumble into the canyon below. This activity produces unique creations.
