MOUNT ST. HELENS

Mantled with snow, Mount St. Helens sits prominently behind a plush forested framing. Formerly a symmetrical cone rising 9,677 feet and part of the Cascade volcano chain, Mount St. Helens proved to be incredibly active. On May 18, 1980 this volcano erupted and dramatically changed the landscape within a 230- square mile area forever.
