Blazing red bigtooth maple leaves colorfully frame the dramatic walls of Angels Landing. This immense stone formation rises 1500 feet above the meandering Virgin River and is a prominent feature in Zion National Park. Early visitors held that, because of its lofty height and sheer walls, only angels could land on it.
