BOBCAT

Mostly, nocturnal and solitary, the bobcat is rarely seen. Its habitat includes rimrock chaparral areas and dens in rock crevices or hollow logs. What distinguishes the bobcat from other members of the Cat Family is its "bobbed tail." It may hunt for small mammals and birds over a 50-mile region, but regularly inhabits about a 2-mile radius.
