Bison In Winter

Steaming cauldrons warm bison as they wander throughout Yellowstone in winter. The large head, high hump on its shoulder, thick shaggy coat and stately manner make the bison an impressive sight. Having a normal lifespan of approximately 20 years, these almost-extinct animals have had a remarkable recovery as a result of wise management practices.
