Bugling elk is a signal fall has arrived. This is the time of dramatic rutting among bull elk for herd dominance. These regal animals carry impressive antlers that may become locked in combat. The average weight of a bull elk ranges between 500-1000 pounds and it stands up to 5 feet high at the shoulders.
