Snowy Owl

Mostly silent in winter, the stately snowy owl quietly perches. During mating season, it makes loud croaks and harsh whistles. The main diet of the snowy owl consists of lemmings which populate the tundra areas. Inhabiting Eurasia and North America, the snowy owl has a circumpolar range, and may on occasion migrate southward.
