GARDNER RIVER

Late afternoon sunlight accentuates golden grasses outlining the swift-flowing Gardner River. This river passes through Gardner Canyon, rugged terrain inhabited by bighorn sheep. The 45th parallel of latitude crosses this area meaning it is approximately halfway between the equator and the North Pole. Kingfishers, osprey and bald eagles can be observed along the Gardner River.
