As snow frosts Black Sand Basin, geysers spew steam into the frigid Yellowstone atmosphere. The world's first national park, Yellowstone encompasses a vast plateau of spectacular natural wonders as well as provides a habitat for free-roaming bison. In winter, thermal activity creates wildly imaginative features and attracts these massive animals.
