Old Faithful

Yellowstone's most famous geyser, Old Faithful, erupts almost as regularly as a timepiece. Eruptions release a terrific hissing sound and fountains of steam shoot approxi-mately 175 feet upwards into the sky. This spectacle becomes even more incredible in winter when the scalding hot plumes interact with an icy, cold atmosphere.
