West Thumb Geyser Basin is a concentrated thermal area on the shore of Yellowstone Lake. Colorful hot pools, bubbling paint pots, hot springs and lakeshore geysers make this basin constantly active. Long rays of a winter sunset silhouetting the trees enhance the fiery mood of these steaming terraces.
