YELLOWSTONE IN FALL

Golden grasses are highlighted as the late afternoon sun casts its glow over Lamar Valley. Originating in the Hoodoo Basin of Lamar Mountain, the Lamar River meanders north-westerly for approximately 66 miles until joining the Yellowstone River. The river was named for the Secretary of the Interior during 1885-1888, Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar.
