A gnarled snag stands before the sweeping panorama of Lamar Valley. Yellowstone is blessed with wide-open valleys that are woven with an intricate network of forbs and tall golden grasses. This diverse habitat is home to antelope, deer, bison, elk, bighorn sheep, coyotes, wolves and many small critters.
