SILEX SPRING

Part of the Fountain Group in Lower Geyser Basin is a slumbering hot spring possessing an artistically edged turquoise pool. This spring surprisingly became a geyser in 1947; erupted again in 1959 and 1973. Its latest geyser activity happened in 1977 with regular eruptions 10-15 feet high. Since 1979, Silex Spring has remained dormant.
