PETRIFIED FOREST NATIONAL PARK

With a spring storm threatening, filtered suntays highlight these unique logs that became stone, or petrified wood. Petrified logs and other relics spanning millions of years are scattered randomly over the arid grasslands of Petrified Forest National Park. Fossilized bones, teeth and leaf impressions also provide dramatic geological and archaeological evidence of ancient life.
