BEAVERTAIL CACTUS

A hardy survivor of the desert, this brilliant rose-colored prickly pear blooms early spring to mid-summer. Beavertail flowers are nearly 3 inches wide and can nearly cover their bristled pads. Colorfully decorating the canyon rim and surrounding areas, these plants inhabit dry rocky areas of the Colorado Plateau.
