Jenny Lake AreaGlacial action formed the Jenny Lake area as great snowfields accumulated thousands of years ago. Glacial movement carved the U-shaped Cascade Canyon. When these rivers of ice retreated, huge piles of rock debris produced moraines which acted as dams for snowmelt. As a result, lakes were created at the mouth of the canyon. |
