Bracken Fern

The lush beauty of bracken fern adds understory to old growth stands of Western red cedar in the Pacific Northwest. This perennial fern rejuvenates growth of its fronds from deep underground stems. Shaped like fiddlenecks, young fronds mature to a height of 2 to 4 feet. Bracken fern thrives in shady, moist densely vegetated environments.
