SNOWDEN BRIDGE

The Great Northern Railroad constructed this unique combination railroad and vehicle bridge in 1913. When a large boat needed to navigate the Montana/North Dakota section along the Missouri River, vehicle travel was stopped. The center of the bridge was then raised allowing the boat to pass underneath.
