PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS

The delicate yellow blossoms of prickly pear add a special touch to the desert environment. A leafless succulent, this cactus has large flattened stems covered with barbed spines and fine bristles. Its showy flower blooms from mid-April to mid-June throughout different elevations within Nevada.
