Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Extending for 110 miles across an arid mountainous region, Lake Mead is the result of Hoover Dam. Nearly 4 years in its completion, Hoover Dam created one of the world's largest lakes. Since Lake Mead National Recreation was established, it has continued to attract hun-dreds of boaters to this desert oasis near Las Vegas.
