MOUNT HOOD

Towering above Lost Lake in a picture-perfect setting, Mount Hood rises to 11,239 feet. It is the highest mountain in Oregon. Somewhat symmetrical and heavily forested to timberline, this dramatic sky dome can be seen from great distances. Mount Hood was named by William R. Brotighton after he first viewed it from Point Vancouver in 1792.
