Framed by evergreen boughs, this azure blue lake is as stunning as it is austere. Set within an immense crater formed by the collapse of a volcano, the lake is 1,932 feet deep and the deepest lake in the United States. Almost 6 miles across, Crater Lake lies in a caldera formed from the eruption of Mt. Mazama.
