Cannon Beach

Late afternoon sun accentuates the white-ribboned surf defining the dramatic coast along Cannon Beach. Punctuated by large stone monoliths known as seastacks, this seven-mile sandy shoreline also includes Crescent Beach. In the winter of 1806, members of the Lewis and Clark Expedition ventured here in search of a beached whale.
