COLUMBIA RIVER

As the men readied for the trip, they met with the Walla Walla Indians and then it was downriver for more than fifty miles of rapids, canyons and cascades in canoes. The local tribes lined the riverbanks watching in amazement at how the Corps made it through such incredible obstacles.
