Rocky Mountains

Uplifting of the Rocky Mountains began millions of years ago. This action created a large chain of mountains with elevations near or above 12,000 feet. Periodic glacial activity scoured and sculpted the huge uplift. As a result, sheer rock faces and scattered masses of unsorted rock debris remain as geological evidence.
