L-oo-goon "... The place where one must go out the way he came in." The Paiutes were fearful to stay in this canyon after dark. It was named after Sinawava, chief deity of the Paiutes. Zion Canyon is a paradox of opposites -stark, vertical monoliths drap-ed with unrelenting canyons, yet offering unforgettable serenity and reverence.
