GOLDEN POPPIES

Like clusters of gold, California poppies radiate a dazzling orange in springtime sunshine. Wide fan-shaped petals create the conspicuous flower that blooms singly on a long stalk. Responsive to sunlight, California poppies close their flowers at night and on cloudy days. Look for these poppies carpeting the desert hillsides.
