An intricately designed composite, blanketflowers possess a yellow-rayflower encircling a purplish-brown diskflower. This flower, also called brown-eyed Susan, is found on sunny well-drained slopes to about 8000 feet. It grows to a height of almost 2 feet and the entire plant is covered with soft hairs.
