ALPINE WETLANDS

A weathered fence outlines the golden marshlands in the late afternoon sunshine. This scenic area near Alpine, along the Salt River to Star Valley, displays some of Wyoming's finest country. It has been the stage for numerous tall tales about Indian encounters, trappers in search of beaver pelts, and Astorians trekking eastward from Oregon's coast.
