Named because of its predictability, Old Faithful has erupted over a million times since being discovered. An unbelievable eruption occurs during winter as scalding hot water and steam spew high into the frigid Yellowstone atmosphere. Powerful bursts generate a roaring sound when this geyser releases the pressure deep within the earth.
